Overview
We promote and strengthen Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) as sustainable, farmer-owned institutions that enable small and marginal farmers and rural communities to improve their livelihoods through collective action.
We are focusing on strengthening their institutional capacity, developing sustainable livelihood opportunities, facilitating market linkages, and improving access to financial services.
Objectives
Promote and strengthen FPOs as sustainable farmer-owned business institutions.
Improve the livelihoods and income of farmers and producer members.
Facilitate collective production, aggregation, processing, and marketing.
Develop strong market linkages with buyers, institutions, retailers, and other value-chain actors.
Promote value addition of local agricultural and Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs).
Build the capacity of FPOs in business planning, governance, financial management, and enterprise development.
Create opportunities for local employment and entrepreneurship.
Strengthen participation of farmers and tribal communities in organized value chains.
